Chic City Garden

  “I recently had Harrington Porter re-create my garden in South Kensington. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, politeness and punctuality of the team. They have succeeded in creating a wonderful, tranquil outside space that has added that extra ‘wow’ factor to my property. To be able to enjoy a beautiful looking garden in the middle of London is a real treat!”

  The garden, which was designed by Alex Ling, was built for a young professional lady, so a stylish, low maintenance, trendy, entertaining space was required.

• Despite tricky access, which involved ten tonnes of soil being bagged up and handled through the house, the garden was transformed in under 4 weeks. The plan was to create a cool, modern, chic city garden to entertain friends and family, based around two seating areas, quality materials, lighting, and mature planting.

  Features include smooth sided Iroko decking, suspended and up-lit benches, rendered blockwork walls, sawn Raj green sandstone, weather-proof rattan furniture, automatic irrigation, and planting of grasses, bamboos, and Buxus balls and cubes.
